JM textile acoustics — wall fabrics and stretch ceilings

JM textile acoustics is built primarily on wall fabrics with documented sound absorption — αw 0.15–0.45 to EN ISO 10534-2 — installed in the same tensioning-profile system as JM textile stretch ceilings. The wall handles reverberation control, the ceiling handles the room's look and lighting — one coherent system, one installation method.

Acoustics

Less reverberation, same look

An acoustic fabric doesn't look like a sound-absorbing panel — it looks like a smooth textile wall or ceiling.

Wall fabrics with acoustic properties

Three lines in the JM range carry a documented sound-absorption value from the manufacturer's datasheet. Full specifications, weights and fire-reaction classes for each are on the wall-fabric page.

Where textile acoustics is used

JM acoustic fabrics work wherever reverberation gets in the way of conversation or focus: open-plan offices, conference rooms, restaurants and educational spaces. Installed as a frame system or pasted directly to the wall — without changing the character of the interior, since the fabric reads as a smooth textile surface, not a conventional acoustic panel.

What about the stretch ceiling?

JM ceiling fabrics don't carry their own certified αw value in our range — the acoustic function in a combined project comes from a wall fabric of the Tecno or Walltex Sound line, mounted in the same profile system as the ceiling. This is a common approach where the architect wants a unified textile look across wall and ceiling, with the wall supplying the sound absorption. Textile acoustics — FAQ

What is an acoustic fabric?

A contract textile with a sound-absorbing structure, installed like any other wall or ceiling fabric — without the look of a conventional acoustic panel.

What sound absorption (αw) do JM wall fabrics have?

The Tecno and Tecno Screen lines reach αw 0.45, Walltex Sound αw 0.15 — values from the manufacturer's datasheet, confirmed by EN ISO 10534-2 testing.

Does the JM fabric stretch ceiling have acoustic properties?

The ceiling itself has no separate certified αw value in our range. In projects combining ceiling aesthetics with an acoustic requirement, sound absorption is provided by a wall fabric in the same profile system.

How do I order samples or a datasheet?
